Abstract

Water is the primary vehicle for improving community health status. Quality requirements of drinking water consumed by the public so as not to cause health problems the organizers need to conduct surveillance of drinking water quality. Water fluoridation in the city of Tembagapura intended to achieve the level of fluoride concentration at a certain level that is safe and can provide maximum benefit for dental health.

The purpose of this study is to determine the hydraulic analysis and water quality model for fluoride concentrations and to compare the water quality model for fluoride with the results of field measurements in drinking water distribution network system in the City of Tembagapura.

The method of analysis used in this study the method of hydraulic analysis and water quality that is a model that will provide configuration traces of fluoride on the existing pipeline network that has been known from asbuilt drawing with field survey results are included in the hydraulic analysis program EPAnet 2.

Most Extreme Difference Absolute value where the value of D in the test against each variable is the 0.105 and 0.373, which means p > 0.05 then the model is accepted. Similarly, when using the indicator value is the value of Z which are respectively 0.943 and 3.338, which means p > 0.05 then the model is accepted.

The simulation results for the hydraulic and water quality concentrations of fluoride has been known that the resolution for head and flow at the point which includes the completion of the simultaneous separate the flow equation for each junction and the head loss relationship at every link in the network as a hydraulic balancing.

Tracking the concentration and size of the series against the non-overlapping segments of the water that fills every link in the network. During the course of time, the size of the upstream segment in a link increases with the amount of water that entered in the link. The new segment will be created at the end of each link that receives inflow from a node if the quality of the new node is different from a link on the last segment. Each pipe in the network contains a single segment where water quality is comparable with the initial quality of the set at the initial node.

Key words: concentration of fluoride, drinking water distribution network, EPAnet, Tembagapura
